Xiaomi has had a massive year in 2019, with the Chinese company launching new TVs, exciting new concept smartphones and smartwatches. The Mi Watch has been the center of attention as Xiaomi has launched a new smartwatch under its own name for the first time. The Mi Watch has a lot of technology on offer and it even comes with an Apple Watch-inspired design. However, it costs less than half of what Apple asks for its Watch Series 5. And now, there’s another Mi Watch coming to the market soon.
Xiaomi has quietly unveiled a new addition to the Mi Watch series in China but prices haven’t been announced yet. It’s called the Mi Watch Color and as you must have guessed, it’s all about fashion. The Mi Watch Color comes with a host of colour straps. And the biggest change from the original Mi Watch is that it comes with a round dial instead of a square dial.
Xiaomi has released a couple of details regarding the Mi Watch Color and it mostly revolves around the display. The watch gets a 1.39-inch display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The watch is supposed to be water-resistant as is evident from the teaser that shows the watch in a pool. That also suggests that it will be able to record activities with the help of all sensors. The teaser also shows a watch face that looks similar to the Always-On-Display face from MIUI 11.
No details about the Mi Watch with regards to the chips and performance have been revealed so far. However, chances are that the Watch Color will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon wear 3100 chip and it will be based on Google’s Wear OS. Compared to the Mi Watch, the Mi Watch Color could be offered at a cheaper price.
Xiaomi says it will reveal full details of the Mi Watch Color on January 3. Chances are that Xiaomi could bring the Mi Watch Color to India along with Mi Watch, with both of them running on Wear OS instead of the MIUI for Watch platform. Similar to its Chinese prices, Xiaomi could launch these at extremely affordable prices.
Xiaomi currently sells its Mi Band series fitness trackers in India, with the most expensive Mi Band 4 selling at Rs 2,299.
