With the price hike taking over the mobility wing of the telecom market, broadband segment could be the next target of internet service providers in the country. There are chances that the companies could hike the prices of the broadband plans as well but before that happens, here is some good news from the house of Jio.
JioFiber’s Rs 199 combo plan which is a very short-validity plan with just 7 days of validity has been modified by the company. According to a report by DreamDTH, Jio’s Rs 199 combo pack which previously acted as a supporting pack in case one exhausts all the data in the main pack will now act as a standalone pack.
The Rs 199 Jio Fiber combo plan that previously offered 100 GB of data at 100 MBPS along with unlimited voice calling benefits now offers 1000 GB of data and unlimited voice calling for 7 days. The users will be able to buy the plan at Rs 234.82 including GST. The throttled speed remains the same. The plan can be availed from Jio’s official website or MyJio app.
Under the new price hike wave, Jio has increased its prices by up to 40 per cent but this is only for the mobility plans. The company claims that the new recharge plans offer 300 per cent more benefits to the customers. Jio has launched four categories of plans under its new All-in-One plans- plans for one month, plans for two months, plans for three months, and lastly the plans for a year. There is also a category of affordable plans. These new plans start at RS 199 and go all the way up to Rs 2,199 annually.
Coming to the JioFiber-related updates, Jio recently has started billing the JioFiber customers. The users who were previously enjoying the free home broadband service under the introductory offer have now been asked to select a home plan and they will be charged for the plan accordingly. Apparently, the company’s plans to charge its users for the free broadband service was on hold for nearly two months as the company needed some time to set up the new billing system. JioFiber users are required to pay Rs 2500 for the service- Rs 1,500 refundable security deposit and Rs 1,000 installation charges.
