One of the main reasons why WhatsApp is at the top of its game is its consistent effort to add new features to the chat app. The chat company has several features underworks and could launch them soon officially. WhatsApp first launches a feature in the beta app and if the feature receives a good response then it goes into the stable version.

Dark mode has long been underworks and the feature is expected to come soon in the app. But it isn’t the only feature that WhatsApp plans to add to the app. Here is a list of top 5 features that are under works and could make their way soon to the app. Take a look:

— Dark mode: WhatsApp is expected to launch the dark mode for iOS 13 users first followed by the Android users. Dark mode has become a trend these days. The feature allows you to scroll through your mobile screen at night without straining your eyes. There is no official announcement from the company yet but the reports from WaBetaInfo suggest that the feature could launch soon.

— iPad support: According to a WaBetaInfo report, WhatsApp is working on iPad support. Although the feature hasn’t made it to even beta mode yet, the report suggests that the company is actually working on the feature this time and could launch it soon. As per the report, the WhatsApp for iPad will be no different from the usual one. “WhatsApp for iPad has exactly the same features of the main app, but with an iPad UI compatibility,” states the report.

— Delete messages: WhatsApp is secretly also working on the Delete messages feature which allows messages to delete automatically after a stipulated time period. The feature is available in the beta version of the app for Android users. The feature will be available for both private chats as well as group chat.

— Redesigned splash screen: WhatsApp recently tweaked its splash screen by adding “from Facebook” at the bottom. The WaBetaInfo suggests that the chat company has further redesigned the splash screen by adding two gray lines. The company has although fixed this but it indicates that it may be working on to bring in changes to the splash screen of the app.

— Blocked contact notice: WhatsApp is working on a feature that will tell you if you have blocked or unblocked a contact. How will the feature work? So if you have enabled this feature, you will see a bubble in the chat window saying “You blocked this contact. Tap to unblock.”
