- WhatsApp is working on a new feature for its apps.
- WhatsApp is planning to bring customised themes on to its app.
- WhatsApp is also working on bringing memoji stickers to its iOS based app.
WhatsApp is working on bringing a number of new features and functionality in its Android and iOS based platforms. We also know that the company is also planning to upgrade its web based platform by bringing features like grouped stickers and albums on to WhatsApp Web. Now, a new report indicates that the company is planning to bring a brand new feature on to its apps that would allow users to change themes within the app.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned social media firm is working on bringing custom themes to its app based platform. Not just that, the blogger said that the company is also working on bringing multiple themes to that. “I have reasons to believe that WhatsApp might be interested to allow theme customization OR multiple themes,” the blogger wrote in a tweet.
This means that when the feature is made available, WhatsApp users would be able to customise the app based on the various theme available in the app. This would mark a stark diversion from the green-coloured theme that the company currently offers and it is likely to be different from the dark mode that is in works for both – WhatsApp’s Android and iOS based apps.
Sadly, there are no more details available about the feature at this point and we will have to wait and watch as to how the company implements this function to say more about it.
Separately, WhatsApp is said to be working on a feature that would allow iPhone users to share memojis in WhatsApp. This means that iPhone users will be able to share their memoji avatars created on their Apple iPhones with their friends and family on WhatsApp. At this point it remains uncertain if these memojis will be displayed in the popular social messaging app as they are shown in iPhones with 3D motion and sound or as stickers with minimum motion. However, we should know more about this functionality when WhatsApp releases the next update on WhatsApp beta for iOS.
