- The BSNL Abhinandan Rs 151 plan has overall validity of 180 days and plan benefits validity of 24 days.
- This is a prepaid plan available to all new and existing BSNL users in all circles.
- The BSNL Abhinandan Rs 151 plan, apart from data and message benefits, also allows for unlimited incoming and outgoing and free roaming in India.
While we keep hearing about the latest plans form Jio, Airtel and Vodafone, it’s not that BSNL is sitting idle. The company has come out with a new prepaid plan that has been curiously named Abhinandan Rs 151 plan. It’s not yet clear if the plan is named after Indian Air Force wing-commander Abhinandan Varthaman or if the similarities are just a co-incidence. That aside, the BSNL Rs 151 plan does seem to be pretty decent.
The BSNL Abhinandan Rs 151 plan gives users 1GB data per day along with free roaming, free incoming and outgoing calls and free 100 SMS per day for 24 days. The overall validity of the plan is 180 days but once you start using it after the recharge, the benefits are for 24 days after which you will have to recharge again.
The details of the plan were revealed by Telecom Talk Info but the information is also available on the BSNL website. The plan is available for all pre-paid BSNL users in all circles, which means unlike how it happens with Airtel and Vodafone plans that are often selective and available to limited number of users, there is no catch here with the BSNL Abhinandan Rs 151 plan.
BSNL says that the Abhinandan Rs 151 plan is part of a 90-day promotional offer that starts from June 13.
It is possible that with the BSNL Abhinandan Rs 151 plan, BSNL is hoping to help its subscribers who may want to stream cricket matches from the ongoing World Cup and hence may require a more generous daily data limit than what is available to them right now. However, one key bit to note here is that even though BSNL is offering 1GB daily data benefit, most of the company’s network coverage is 3G and hence the data speed as well as reliability is on the patchier side. In fact, some areas it is entirely possibly that due to network issues BSNL users may find it difficult to even exhaust their daily data limit.
While Airtel, Jio and Vodafone too offer similar plans with 1GB daily data benefits, these companies are also moving consumers from the low-value plans to higher-value plans. Although such move is more evident in the post-paid market and for now not so much in the prepaid market.
