BSNL has been actively revising its recharge plans to attract more consumers over the course of the last few months. The state-led telecom operator has been trying its best to attract new subscribers to its network in a bid to gain more footprint in the market. The operator recently updates a host of prepaid recharge plans and in a follow up to that, the company has revised two additional prepaid recharge plans under Rs 200.
The latest prepaid plans that have got revisions include the Rs 47 plan and the Rs 198 plan. The first plan that costs Rs 47 offers unlimited local and STD calls. The plan is valid only for a period of 9 days, which is two days shorter than the previous validity of 11 days. However, the plan offers 1GB of data for use in 2G and 3G networks.
The other plan retails for Rs 198 and also offers enhanced benefits compared to the previous iteration. This plan initially used to offer a validity of 28 days and an overall data allotment of 1.5GB per day. After the revision, the validity has been increased to a period of 54 days. Also, the data allotment has been increased to a period of 2GB per day.
Earlier, BSNL announced two new recharge packs for IPL fans during this year’s IPL season. The first recharge pack costs Rs 199 and offers a validity of 28 days. With this plan, subscribers will be entitled to unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 100 SMSes per day. The plan also offers 1GB of data per day for the entire period of its validity. Compared to this, the Rs 198 plan now makes more sense for subscribers.
The second IPL plan costs Rs 499 and comes with increased validity of 90 days, which is almost close to three months. However, the other benefits remain the same – 1GB of data per day, unlimited local, STD and roaming calls and 100 SMSes per day.
For postpaid subscribers, the state-owned telecom operator has been offering up to 25 per cent cashback on its annual rental plans. The offer stands only for postpaid subscribers and it won’t apply to prepaid subscribers. The higher priced plans are coming with 25 per cent cashback while the lower priced plans are coming with a cashback of 20 per cent.
