Airtel has launched a new plan that mainly caters to users who are heavily dependent on mobile data. The company has launched a new Rs 181 prepaid plan that is unique and comes with its own set of benefits. Unique because there are less plans in this price bracket and second it comes with an unusual validity.
Airtel Rs 181 recharge plan offers 3GB data per day along with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 100 SMSes a day, and 3GB data per day. There is no FUP limit on calling which means you can make unlimited calls on any number you want within the country. The disappointing part is the validity. The plan comes with just 14 days of validity which totals the data to 42 GB.
According to a Telecom Talk report, the plan is valid only for select circles. The plan is already live in North India. While the validity is quite less, the daily data limit of 3GB could help the plan win the game against the rival plans from Jio or Vodafone Idea.
Jio has a Rs 198 plan that offers a total of 56GB data along with unlimited calls, SMS benefits, and Jio apps subscription for 28 days. The data is unlimited but there is a capping of 2GB high speed data per day. Post the FUP, the speed of the internet falls to 60Kbps. Airtel here offers more daily data than Jio but then the validity is less than the Jio’s.
Airtel recently also launched a Rs 289 plan that offers both data and calling benefits. But this plan is different from the Rs 181 recharge. While the latter is a data-centric plan, the Rs 289 plan is for those who want no restrictions on calling benefits. The plan offers unlimited calling (local, STD and roaming) along with 100 SMS per day with a validity of 48 days. The data is less. You get just 1GB data for the entire validity period. This plan is available for 2G, 3G and 4G users and valid in all circles.
