Airtel celebrates its 23rd anniversary and wants its prepaid and postpaid users to know it. So he offers a free gift card worth Rs 51 to almost all his subscribers. Why “almost”? Because the offer is only available to Airtel users who use a voice and data plan worth Rs 100 or more. Airtel says the gift card could be used to make “mobile refills, bill payments, or purchases on Amazon India.”
The gift card will be available through the My Airtel app, which most Airtel subscribers already have on their phones. If you do not have it, you can download it from the Google Play Store or Apple iOS Store. Once you have the app, to get the free Amazon Pay Gift Card, you will need to open the My Airtel app and press the “Airtel Thanks” banner. After that, you will be able to activate your gift card on the Amazon India website.
The offer, as previously stated, is available to prepaid and postpaid Airtel users. But there are conditions attached. Only prepaid users who are currently using a package of at least Rs 100 will be eligible for the free Amazon Gift Card. For postpaid users, the free gift card is available for those who subscribe to an Infinity plan.
Airtel says the “digital gift card will also be available to customers who opt for prepaid Airtel prepaid plans of 100 Rs or more over the next 30 days or for an upgrade to an Infinity postpaid plan.”
This is not the first time that Airtel and Amazon have collaborated on something. Previously, Airtel and Amazon together offered a one-year free subscription to Amazon Prime subscribers to the high-value Infinity plan. The offer is still available and has allowed Amazon to significantly increase its premium subscribers. Since the Prime membership includes benefits such as a two-day free delivery on most products sold on the Amazon India website and gives access to Prime Video and Prime Music, a large number of subscribers at Airtel Infinity have accepted this offer.
The benefits to both companies when they work together are clear. For Airtel, Amazon Prime – and now this gift card – adds value to what it offers subscribers. For Amazon, which hopes to increase its premium membership in India at a fast pace, access to Airtel users is extremely useful for finding new Prime users.
