Xiaomi will launch the Mi A2 Android One phone in India on Next Month 8th. The company’s Mi India Twitter terminal confirmed the launch date soon after Xiaomi announced the Mi A2 (and the Mi A2 Lite) for the global market in Spain. The Mi A2 Lite does not come to India by the way.
Xaomi on Tuesday launched the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite phones on Android One for the global market. The main USP of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite is the fact that these two phones run a stock version of Android and not Xiaomi’s custom MIUI ROM. In addition, these two phones come with the promise of frequent and timely software updates, considering that they are part of Google’s Android One program.
The Mi A2 is the successor to the Mi A1 from last year, while the Mi A2 Lite is an attenuated version of the Mi A2. Both phones however switch the same Android 8.1 Oreo software, and also these two phones come with two rear cameras, and full metal bodies. While the Mi A2 has an aspect ratio of 18: 9, the Mi A2 Lite comes with a 19: 9 aspect ratio, which means it comes with a notch.
While announcing their availability for global markets, Xiaomi pointed out that the Mi A2 will arrive in 40 markets, including India, in the coming days. The Mi A2 Lite, meanwhile, will experience limited global availability and India is not one of the markets on which the company will launch.
The Mi A2 will start at 249 Euros (about 20,071 Rs) for the basic version with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage up to 349 Euros (about 28,131 Rs) for the high-end version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage . The Mi A2 will also be available in RAM 4GB and 64GB version for 279 Euros (about 22,489 Rs). We can expect Xiaomi to launch it a little lower when the Mi A2 will arrive in India but anyway, it looks like the Mi A2 will be more expensive than the A1 Mi.
