  • The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the relevant paper of GATE 2017, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
  • Eligible candidates should have qualified and secured a valid score in the corresponding paper of GATE 2017.
  • Candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2017.

Diploma Trainee:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Civil Engineering from recognized Technical Board/ Institute with minimum of 70% marks in aggregate for GEN/OBC (NCL) candidates or equivalent CGPA & Pass Marks for SC / ST / PwD (HH) candidates.

Jr. Officer Trainee (HR):

Two years full time Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma/ MBA in Human Resource/ Personnel Management/ Industrial Relation/ MSW (with specialization in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations) or Equivalent from recognized Institute with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for UR/OBC (NCL)/SC/ST.

Note: Higher qualification of B. Tech./B.E./B.Sc. Engg. in same discipline in engineering with minimum 65% marks or more shall not be a bar for the post of Diploma Trainee.

Power Grid PGCIL Recruitment – Selection process:

The selection process is based on

  • Diploma Trainee: Written Test/Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Jr. Officer Trainee (HR): Written/ Computer Based Test (CBT) & Computer Skill Test (for only those who will qualify in Written/CBT Exam. Computer Skill Test is Qualifying in Nature)

Scheme of Written Test:

  • The Written Test/Computer Based Test shall be of Objective type (each question shall have four answer options) of two hours duration consisting of two parts
  • Part-I consists of Technical/Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions from respective discipline.
  • Part-II consists of Aptitude Test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency & interpretation, numerical ability etc.
  • All questions carry equal marks (1 mark). Wrong & multiple answers would result in negative marks of ¼.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

  • Unreserved Vacancies:- Minimum 30% in each: Part-I & Part-II separately and Minimum 40% marks in aggregate
  • Reserved Vacancies:- Minimum 25% in each: Part-I & Part-II separately and Minimum 30% marks in aggregate

Power Grid PGCIL Recruitment Selection Process for Executive Trainee:

  • The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2018, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
  • Eligible candidates will have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2018, i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE)/ Electronics and Communication (EC) / Civil Engineering (CE)/ Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)
  • Candidates qualified in corresponding paper of GATE 2018 shall only be eligible to be considered for the next stage of selection. Qualifying marks in GATE-2018 shall be as decided by GATE-2018 conducting authority.
  • Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2018, in the corresponding paper.
